“湖光山色相映，书声鸟鸣共和。”这是地处贵州西部“中国凉都”、与明湖国家湿地公园融为一体的六盘水师范学院靓丽而迷人的风景淘气小亲亲。

发展历程

1978年，伴随着改革开放的春风池田夏希 ，因“三线”建设而成立的六盘水撤地建市。同年，贵阳师范学院六盘水大专班成立，高等教育的种子开始萌芽。1985年成立六盘水师范专科学校，1993年更名为六盘水师范高等专科学校。2003年六盘水市师范学校并入，2006年六盘水市体育运动学校并入。2009年升格为六盘水师范学院，学校从此开启了本科教育的新纪元。
教学设施

目前，学校设有教育科学与音乐学院、文学与新闻学院、政治与公共管理学院、旅游与历史文化学院、矿业与土木工程学院、化学与材料工程学院、数学与信息工程学院、生物科学与技术学院、电气工程学院、建筑艺术学院、外国语学院、体育学院和继续教育学院等13个二级学院及40个本科专业，涵盖工学、理学、教育学、文学、农学等10个学科门类。面向全国16个省（市、自治区）招生，现有全日制在校学生8000余人，成人教育学员3200人以上。
升本以来，市委市政府高度重视学校发展，累计投入建设资金约20亿元硬汉学校 ，校园基础设施得到了根本改善。目前上海港湾学校，学校占地面积达1310亩，校舍建筑面积达36万平方米，余超颖 教学科研仪器设备值超过1亿元，馆藏图书100余万册，建成了“2×40G核心、万兆骨干、千兆到桌面”的高速校园网。湖光山色与极具个性的建筑交相辉映周曼华，烘托出一派旖旎清远的景象。优美的校园风光，完善的设施设备，怡人的育人环境，被人们誉为“贵州最美大学校园”烤骆驼。
